Commitment is a Daily Choice

What are you committed to? What are you working towards? Is it success, and if so, why? Do you want to make a difference in this world? Each of us has a commitment to ourselves, and if we don't choose what that is, it will be chosen for us.

There are 24 hours in a day, and within that time frame, we all make choices. We make choices to sleep in or exercise, go to work or call out sick, give a compliment or curse at someone. These choices become habits that shape what we are committed to. We can be committed to being a bad friend who never reaches out or lends a hand, or a Some of us think that by not fully committing to our goals, we are simply pushing them off further. However, we are actually just committing ourselves to be that subpar version of ourselves. Eventually, these habits become harder and harder to unbreak and now we're stuck having to undo them before building new, healthy ones.
As you go into the week, ask yourself "What am I committed to?" How can you show up as the person who values your commitments? Whether that takes a few extra brutal early morning wakeups throughout the week, time spent meal prepping on the weekends to reach your health goals, or a promise to make time for prayer before starting your day. Remember that thing day in and day out and don't let your goals get pushed off!
